Mount Forest FHT is seeking candidates for the following positions:
Mental Health Therapist
Job Type: Full Time or Part Time position – candidates may apply to offer part time for a minimum of 2 days per week
Hours of Work: Tuesday – noon to 8 pm, Monday and Wednesday to Friday – 9 am to 5 pm
Wage: $32.65 - $38.02 per hour; benefits fully paid by employer, RRSP matching program
Location: Mount Forest, Ontario, Hybrid options available
The Mount Forest Family Health Team offers health care professionals the opportunity to work in an interprofessional primary care team dedicated to providing evidence informed care to over 12,000 patients who live and work in Mount Forest and the surrounding rural communities.
The successful candidate for this position will use a variety of psychotherapy skills to provide one on one services to youth and adults experiencing a broad range of mental health issues and situations while being supported by a team that includes administrative support staff, dietitian, occupational therapist, nurse practitioners, medical secretaries, outreach workers, pharmacist, physicians and registered nurses.
This position is best suited for an individual with:
A Master’s Degree in clinical counselling or equivalent from an accredited college or university including formal training and proficiency with a variety of modalities
Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in utilizing evidence-based therapy approaches in supporting patients to overcome or cope with various mental health issues; Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other trauma focused therapy modalities preferred
An avid interest in and proven ability to work as a member of a collaborative inter-professional team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially using plain language
Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening is required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in rural communities and/or in communities with higher rates of social and economic challenges
Advanced proficiency in computer use and various software applications including electronic medical records system
