Screening and Prevention
Program Details (Back to Programs)

  • If you are at risk, for developing an illness regular screening tests can be arranged with or without an appointment to a doctor or nurse practitioner.
  • Prenatal Care - appointments with a doctor or nurse practitioner to make sure you and your growing baby are doing well.
  • Well Child Care - appointments with a doctor or nurse practitioner to make sure your chiild is healthy and developing well. Includes immunizations.
  • General health assessments (physicals with or with out pap tests) Appointments with a doctor or nurse practitioner to assess your health andd your risk of developing problems, including blood work and other testing.
  • Immunizations - influenza (flu) immunizations, regular immunizations for ditheria and tetanus, travel immunizations must be under the direction of a doctor or nurse practitioner. Usually done by a primary care nurse.
  • Blood Pressure Clinic - Drop in at Claire Stewart Medical Clinic Mondays between 1:00-3:00p.m. or Tuesday 5;30-7:00pm or Friday's between 8:00a.m. & 10:30am to have your blood pressure checked. High blood pressure is called the "silent killer" because it has not symptoms. Catching it early makes this illness easier to treat. Have your blood pressure checked at least once a year.
  • Group education about Pre-Diabetes, Cholesterol, Salt in your Food, Arthritis, and COPD
  • Staying On Target Clinic
    The Staying On Target Clinic is a program designed so you can get he support and advice you need to help you manage your diabetes as best you can. The clinic helps you to learn and keep up to date with the best practices and recommendations, so you can continue to be in charge of your Diabetes.
     
    Ad each clinic visit you will meet with a Nurse Clinician and Registered dietitian to review your labs, blood sugars, diabetes care and nutrition. It is our goal to work with you to slow the progression of Diabetes and prevent complications such as heart disease, nerve damage and kidney damage.
  • Lifestyle Screening - Our grandmothers were right about one thing, what we eat, how we sleep and how much exercise we get have a huge affect on how healthy we are. Want to know more about how healthy your diet is? Call the Claire Stewart Medical Clinic and ask for an appointment with our dietitian. You will be asked to record what you eat for 3 days before attending your appointment. In addition, she will look at your food intake and see how it balances with your exercise.
