Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families is a program where parents/caregivers and youth can learn ways to make communication better at home, understand how to implement fair rules and consequences, and learn the importance of spending time together as a family.  Each week starts with all the families enjoying a delicious meal together, and follows with youth and adults splitting into rooms where they learn the topic of the week through fun and interesting activities for about an hour.  Afterwards families come together to practice their new skills and hear back from each other as to what they've learned.  The program is free and participants find it to be a great way to spend time together and build a better relationship.  The program is lead by four friendly and engaging community facilitators plus a program coordinator.  Everything that is learned in the Youth session is presented in a way that is fun and interactive.  Adults find the Parent’s session to be a really supportive place and learn a lot from the other parents that attend in addition to what is covered each week.
